How to Get Unstuck: Small Shifts That Change Everything

When You Know Something Needs to Change


For a long time, I knew I needed a change. I could feel pieces of the vision and flashes of what life could look like and even feel like, but I couldn’t see how it would all come together. I didn’t know the timeline. I didn’t know where exactly it would lead. I just knew I wasn’t thriving. I felt stuck.

And I was in that place for years.

There was no instant revelation, no overnight clarity. Just a slow, quiet return, over and over again, to my intuition, using the tools I’d gathered through two decades of study in yoga, meditation, and self-awareness. I began listening to my body. Getting curious about what felt good. Taking small steps toward the things that stirred my heart. And eventually, I began to notice a path beneath my feet again.

The change that I was seeking didn’t start when I crossed an ocean and moved into a new life. The change started when I began treating my intuition like it mattered.


Stuck in the In-Between


Right now, a lot is changing politically, economically, and environmentally. The pace is relentless, and much of it feels beyond our control.

At the same time, many people feel stuck.

Because even as the world shifts around them, their day-to-day lives can feel immovable.There’s so much uncertainty, but responsibilities are still very real. The cost of everything keeps rising. And the idea of making a major life change might feel completely out of reach.

It’s a strange tension— so much is shifting, and yet so much feels frozen. If you’re feeling that contradiction inside yourself, you’re not alone.


The Power of Small Shifts


But not all change has to be big.

Sometimes it begins with small, quiet acts of self-connection.Listening to your body. Honoring your rhythms. Letting rest be sacred.

These are the kinds of shifts that make space for something new to take root, even when the world outside feels like it’s spinning. This is the kind of focus that helps you hone in on new directions, decisions, and tiny steps toward more happiness.

For now, here are a few things you can experiment with.


Invitations to Begin Again…

Here are a few invitations to consider when the world around you isn’t shifting (yet), but you feel called to something more:


  • Reclaim 10 minutes a day to be quiet with yourself. Not productive. Not distracted. Just quiet. Check out any of my free guided meditations on Insight Timer, most are about that length.

  • Track your energy like it matters (it Does). What nourishes you? What drains you? What excites you? What calms you? Adjust accordingly.

  • Name one desire or creative idea you’re no longer willing to ignore. And start imagining each day taking one tiny step forward towards it, just to get used to how it feels in your body.


These might sound simple, but they are the heart of rebuilding a more attuned, intuitive relationship with yourself. They’re also the kinds of rituals we return to inside the Art of Self-Care space, because having live support makes it easier to stay with the process.


Building Self-Trust, Softly


Real talk: You don’t have to move countries or start completely over to create real change that shifts your daily experience. You just have to start somewhere.

Sometimes, the most radical shifts begin quietly- Practicing one new thought. Or one act of deeper self-trust. Reminding yourself to take one conscious breath or moment of relaxation.

It’s so important that we remember that transforming and getting 'unstuck' doesn’t perfection. It doesn’t mean having it all figured out. It often begins on its own once you start trusting yourself enough to pause, to listen to your inner knowing, and to believe that that inner guidance matters more than anything. Even when the world around you is noisy, demanding, or uncertain.

Self-trust is a quiet skill of returning to yourself.It’s the practice of listening to your body, your instincts, your knowing, and of making choices from that place, not because others approve or it feels productive- but because it feels aligned with your truth.


Self-Compassion as a Way Through


When doubt or judgment shows up, as it always does, it’s self-compassion that allows you to keep going. Not by pushing harder, but by softening more and allowing.

You’re allowed to be a work in progress. You’re allowed to begin again, as many times as it takes.

Try this: 

Place your hand over your heart. 
Breathe fully and intentionally. 

Say to yourself: “It’s okay to be where I am right now. I can begin again as much as I need.” 

This is a small act of self-compassion that can re-center you in seconds.


Resilient and Unstuck- Being in Flow


For years, I didn’t know exactly what my change would look like (and I probably still don’t!). But I began to trust my own rhythm, and I started making micro-adjustments based on what I witnessed. I shifted how and where I spent my time, what kind of company I kept, what I nourished myself with, what I said yes to. And over time, those small choices built a new kind of resilience, one that didn’t rely on external validation.

I’m here to remind you that you don’t need to wait until you have all the answers.You just need to start strengthening the connection to your own inner compass.And trust your unique path to support you.

Over time, with consistent care and attention, those internal shifts begin to ripple outward and can transform your work, your relationships, your surroundings, your sense of possibility.

That’s how a stuck life becomes a growing one, and a vision starts to take shape.
